An innovative educator focused on the access, equity, and success of first-generation students, Charmaine Troy Ph.D. is a three time first-generation graduate. She has led the development and implementation of first-generation student support programs at three academic institutions: Georgia Gwinnett College, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech.
She is co-editor of the book Developing and Implementing Promising Practices and Programs for First-Generation Students. She is also co-editor of the book Graduate Education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): A Student Perspective and co-author of the book chapter Mentoring Experiences of Graduate Students in HBCU Professional Programs.
